Flower and Song: the flowers - the gifts we receive; the songs - our offerings we leave behind. These are my public markings of both, offered in gratitude.

Vernal Haiku
spring in the garden winter survived once again dreaming Buddha grins
Heya Sandi! Happy Spring to you also! Man, nobody knows how to celebrate spring like someone who wondered if they'd see one again! May you keep being surprised by many more - and regardless, may this be your BEST one EVER! And then next spring? We'll make that the BEST one EVER, too!
May your flowers be brighter, your birds sing stronger and the warm sun shine down upon you.
Next -- on to our BEST summer EVER! But first -- there's gardens to plan! What's your favorite flower? I'll plant some in my new beds my kid dug up for me - a little Sandi patch.
Daisies it is. There's a new patch just waiting for something to be planted - and some of those will be more daisies - for you, Sandi.
You ever seen the movie Harold and Maude? Love the daisy scene. Harold and Maude are looking out over a field of daisies and discussing what kind of flower they would like to be reborn as:
Maude: I should like to change into a sunflower most of all. They're so tall and simple. What flower would you like to be?
Harold: I don't know. One of these, maybe [looking out over the field of daisies].
Maude: Why do you say that?
Harold: Because they're all alike.
Maude: Oooh, but they're not. Look. See, some are smaller, some are fatter, some grow to the left, some to the right, some even have lost some petals. All kinds of observable differences. You see, Harold, I feel that much of the world's sorrow comes from people who are this [she points to the unique daisy in her hand], yet allow themselves be treated as that [she gestures to the field of daisies].

Thanks for stirring that little memory of our unique journeys and selves.
Nice picture, nice day, nice scene from Harold & Maude. Thanks for all. Here's my spring haiku:
~ Spring ~
Lasted just two days; Ice storm - heat wave - it's texas, must check the A/C!
===
Okay, gimmee some time, I'm sure I can do better.

BTW: I'm also happy to see another Spring. This is the 3rd Spring since I was given a harsh lesson in my own mortality. Almost 3 years to the day that I danced nekkid in a huge thunderstorm, defying the lightning that cracked all around me, shaking my fist toward the heavens - saying, "either strike me dead or wash me clean!"
"I danced nekkid in a huge thunderstorm, defying the lightning that cracked all around me..."
My Dear Cool Hand Luke/Shark,
Reading this today I realized that this is only the second spring I've known you. Guess that's what a friendship forged under the lightning will do - 2 bright and shiny springs seems like a lifetime!
It's a good Spring Fever we all share. Burn, Baby, Burn!
And Sylvan Woman, thanks for the well-wishes. Back atcha - lots of Flowers, lots of Song.
PS: thanks for the haiku, Shark, and for sharing generously your Texas breezes with us yanks. It's pretty damn fine up here. Thanks for that. ; )
Hey there, WriteTime, thanks for dropping by, taking a peek, sharing in the spring. I have to say, tonight was the definition of 'pleasant'. Coolish, spring evening, spring peepers peepin', crab apples blooming.

That was this morning, Tarzan, as I stepped out onto the deck - they all posed for me!

I must admit that daisies always make me smile a little. I don't garden...no green thumb. But I enjoy looking at flowers. Thanks!

...so...
I'm still here.
Which means...
...I guess He chose to wash me clean.
